👓 About Malex Salamanques Amiel
Malex Salamanques Amiel is a British-Venezuelan multidisciplinary designer and strategist, working at the intersection of semiotics and culture, design, and speculative futures. With over 20 years of professional experience, she has collaborated with global brands and organisations to create meaningful products, services, and experiences.
Malex is interested in exploring the connections between the human and non-human, the individual and the collective and how this connects to identity and belonging. Her interest in speculative design, and critical reflection has led her to imagine alternative futures through narratives that challenge conventional boundaries.
Currently, she is a director at Space Doctors, a consultancy based in the UK. At the same time, she dreams through Futureña, her personal – and ongoing– observatory exploring the intersection of semiotics, cultural analysis, and speculative and critical design in Latin America.
Additionally, she is a fellow at the School of Critical Design, where she has explored critical and speculative design practices to inspire new perspectives on the region.
